How is HUS diagnosed?

 

In addition to a complete medical examination including a history and physical, your doctor may order the following tests to determine your HUS diagnosis:

  • A complete blood count (CBC) - to show any abnormalities in the blood
  • A urinalysis -  to show if there is blood or protein in urine
  • Stool culture - to reveal if E. coli is present
  • Kidney biopsy - to show any diagnostic changes
