I saw your post a week ago and am thinking about you. How is your treatment going? I've been on chemo for almost two months and am interested in getting ideas from others on how to cope. God bless you and I pray for your recovery.

Since you posted so long ago, I won't offer advice since you've already been through it.  I, too have stage 2 and had my surgery in June.  Just finishing up my last round of chemo.  It's been a tough year, but hopefully we can both put this behind us.  Please let us know how you are doing.

I have 2  treatments left, Had a little problem with low plattlet counts, but glad it will be over soon. It will be great to be normal again, not "that person with cancer".  What chemo treatments did you have? did you have to have radiation?

I just finished my last round of chemo which was 4 months of Xeloda.  I did have radiation and chemo (Xeloda) before the surgery.  The doctoe said I responded really well and the tumor shrank quite a bit.  Too bad it was so low in my colon.  I ended up with a permanent colostomy, which is no fun at all.

I stumbled upon a great book last week and I highly recommend it.  It's called Crazy Sexy Cancer Tips.  It's inspirational and funny at the same time.

     Hi,

Sorry to hear you had to have a colostomy. I had Xeloda during my radiation, that is a tough drug, I don't know how you did it for 4 months +. They gave me  three drugs for chemo called foxfol, my cancer was outside my colon. I have 2 treatments left.

I will look up that book, sometimes we need all the help we can get. I appreciate you letting me know about the book.

Please write back, it's nice to talk to someone who has the same thing as me.

Good luck with your next 2 treatments.  Did you have a really hard time with your past chemo treatments?  I was pretty lucky.  I had a little nausea, but the compazine helped with that.  The most troubling side effects were the change in the skin on my feet and hands.  It got pretty painful at times.  And, of course, the fatigue.

Hope you're able to get your hands on the Crazy Sexy Cancer book.  Let me know what you think.

    Pamelatime,

I hope you did well. I know you are strong enough to handle this.  Chris
